Behemoth banned from Ohio venue due to religious differences
http://www.metalsucks.net/2012/04/03/behemoth-banned-in-ohio/
Well that’s just fucking stupid. Behemoth, Watain, The Devil’s Blood, and Solitude were all denied being able to play at this completely shitbag place called The Brewmasters Gate due to the owners disliking the bands religious beliefs. I think I’m going to send them an email and get a direct response on the matter, if they respond, which they probably won’t since they’re a bunch of stupid sissies.  ON THE PLUS SIDE OF THINGS, the show has been moved to the Al Rosa Villa, also in Columbus, and is still on the same day. The rest of this post is a bit of rage.
First of all why the fuck would you book this show if there was such an issue? How did the owners not know about a band called The Devil’s Blood playing at their venue and not realizing they probably aren’t fans of Christianity? Dumb mistake on their part if they didn’t like it, but that’s not really my main gripe here.
What grinds my gears is the fact that music is meant to bring people together. Together for various reasons, whether it’s people of differences or to just find people who are similar to you. We all know the best type of people love metal anyways, right? Good thing that religion is on the scene to fuck everything up for everybody. I’m an extremely open person who listens to all kinds of music on a regular basis (yeah, I listen to dubstep and hiphop quite often), and I embrace the fact that there are different types of people in the world, and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
But religion gets to have it’s way on people and cause them to do seemingly illogical things. Check out Palestine and surrounding areas. Westboro Baptist Church is a huge group of scumbag people too, and they’re religious zealots. It just angers me how religion is constantly fucking things up. Remember when Slayer got accused in the 90’s for being satanic Nazi’s? They just thought it was cool song topics, and the holocaust was interesting to write music about. Cannibal Corpse just wants to kill everybody and eat their bodies? Yeah, clearly, especially when their drummer is a vegan.

edit: I sent them a small message with a few words about “fuck you and your establishment” and that I hoped to hear from them soon. http://i.imgur.com/hOeNw.png

Six Feet Under, Dying Fetus, and Revocation to go on North American tour.
Hot diggity damn! I got to see Six Feet Under last year and they were pretty fucking awesome, and even though a few of their members are now fully ex-Chimaira musicians, I would assume that they bring even more brutality this year. Dying Fetus is fucking awesome (See: Kill Your Mother And Rape Your Dog), and I’m so god damn glad Revocation is on the bill. I’ve missed Revocation twice now, but that is gonna change this year! Huzzah! \m/

Origin headlines the Occupation Domination 2012 Tour
Well, if you aren’t into extremely brutal death metal just keep on scrollin.
Origin, Cattle Decapitation, Decrepit Birth, Aborted, Rings of Saturn, and Battlecross will be cruising over North America slaying faces as they go. I would be especially pumped for Aborted as their new record Global Flatline is a hell an album. Battlecross is also a name that might not seem familiar but they’ve actually been signed to Nuclear Blast for some time now. When I first heard them last year I enjoyed the riffing that goes on in their songs.
As always, check out bands you haven’t heard of! Buy stuff from Amazon.com and support the bands you like. I’ll be updating this later when the full tour dates are released. Currently 3 dates are announced, though.

Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed, Abysmal Dawn, and Arkaik band together for the US Torture Tour
This is a pretty badass lineup, especially with Arkaik tossed on there. All the bands are great and this is some really good death metal that will be going across America. For tour dates check Cannibal Corpses tour tab on Facebook.
Also I am slightly unhappy that this isn’t going to be in my backyard in Cleveland, but that’s ok. Arkaik is a REALLY good band that needs more recognition, so if you go to this tour make sure you get there in time for Arkaik. Awesome bunch of guys who have gotten a new drummer in the past few months, and their guitarist is also in Deeds of Flesh.

Dying Fetus, The Faceless, Goatwhore, Volumes, Last Chance to Reason on tour for the Second Leg
The Faceless and Goatwhore get picked up for the second leg, so automatically this tour is 10x better than leg 1. I still stand by what I said about weird band lineups though. If you’re lucky to live near one of these cities this will be a pretty sweet show, no doubt. Little bit of something for everyone, I guess.

Dying Fetus, Job For A Cowboy, Volumes, and Last Chance to Reason Mini tour
Dying Fetus is actually calling this “Leg 1” of their upcoming tour because they are doing some slightly different lineups and hitting different locations. My only gripe about this lineup is the fact that these bands are very very different, and don’t really match the headliner. JFAC and Dying Fetus, ok that is fine. Adding in Volumes and Last Chance to Reason is kind of weird though because that music is vastly different from JFAC and Dying Fetus. I’m all for spreading the word about a band and whatnot, but it just strikes me funny to include these bands together.

Children of Bodom 15th Anniversary Tour with Eluveitie, Revocation, Threat Signal
This is going to be a great tour, for sure. CoB is obviously fucking sweet, but the other bands are awesome as well. Eluveitie has a new album coming out soon so they will have plenty of new songs to be heard on tour. Revocation is just awesome, and if you don’t listen to them already then that’s seriously your loss. Threat Signal is fucking dope too and definitely rounds out this dank lineup.

Born of Osiris headlining November/December 2011 Tour with Veil of Maya, Carnifex, Structures, and Betraying the Martyrs
This is an excellent reason to soil yourself.
Obviously Born of Osiris is fucking dope, that’s a given. Veil of Maya is… ok, because they kind of have their ups and downs (probably more downs than ups) with songs. Carnifex is fucking brutal and they will easily be slaying peoples faces. Structures isn’t bad, but I think they’re a bit too faggy sceneish if you ask me. They seem like wannabe “hardcore br00tal” people, but their music is just djent proggy shit.
Last, and certainly not least, is Betraying the Martyrs. They are extremely fucking talented and have a great sound. Click the link to read a few posts I made about them.
The tour dates aren’t completely setup yet, but here is what’s available so far:
11/18 - Dayton, OH @ The Attic 11/20 - Cleveland, OH @ Peabodys 11/23 - Indianapolis, IN @ Emerson Theatre 11/25 - Joliet, IL @ Mojoes 11/26 - Detroit, MI @ Harpos 11/27 - Pittsburgh, PA @ Altar Bar 11/28 - Philadelphia, PA @ First Unitarian Church 11/29 - Syracuse, NY @ Lost Horizon Stay tuned for more dates TBA on Oct 6th

Deicide on tour next March with Abigail Williams, Jungle Rot, and Lecherous Nocturne
Yeah, that’s March as in like, months from now. Shit, when a tour is announced 7 months in advance you better be able to save your pesos. The lineup is pretty devious, I might add. Deicide is obviously fucking awesome, but every location that they play at is going to be filled with hate and the power of Satan if you ask me. I wonder if some dipshit religious activist moron is going to pop out of somewhere and have a hissy fit.  Now what will be cool is seeing Jack Owen play… awww yeahhh.

The Black Dahlia Murder back on tour this fall with All Shall Perish and Cannabis Corpse
Hahaha, you have to be shitting me. I mean, I have seen TBDM everytime they came through the past 4 years, but now they’re doubling up on me. I actually saw them on Sunday but didn’t post pictures yet. I got to see All Shall Perish back in February with Kataklysm, and then again last week with Unearth and Suicide Silence. I guess I get to see them both again in October. What will really be fun is getting to see Cannabis Corpse. Now that’s a goofy ass band, but they’re good. If you don’t know them they are a band based off of Cannibal Corpse except instead of singing about zombies they sing about smoking weed.
I can’t believe they are headlining ANOTHER tour already.  I mean, they are pumping out an album every 2 years, and the entire time inbetween is spent doing tours, which is typically 2 North American and 2 European tours.  They fucking wrote Ritual while on the road, toured Europe, came home, released it, then went on Summer Slaughter.  Soon as Summer Slaughter is over they’re just going to do another damn headliner.
The best thing is that this tour is going to try to hit a lot of places that Summer Slaughter couldn’t reach. So if you missed TBDM the first time, now’s your chance.
TOUR DATES (as of 8/10):

2011 Carnival Is Forever North American Tour
ERRRRBODY HOLD YOUR FUCKING HORSES. FLESHGOD APOCALYPSE AND DECREPIT BIRTH ARE ON THE LOOSE AGAIN!
God damn, I was on the phone with my friend earlier today saying how lucky he is to see Fleshgod Apocalypse since they aren’t in America very often, but now I realize that this will be the THIRD damn tour they’re doing in North America in 2011 alone.
The tour is named after Decapitated’s new album, Carnival Is Forever. They are headlining and bringing along Decrepit Birth, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Rings of Saturn, and some band called The Haarp Machine. I’m not sure who that last group is, but I’m about to find out. Olavi Mikkonen’s amp setup
What we have here is 2 very similar amp heads. The head on top is supposedly a 5150, however based on what I could see and going by the pictures I took it’s just a 6505. The amp head on the bottom is the 6505+, and the white line is tape that has all of the amp settings written on it. Since I am the owner of a 5150, I took the liberty of writing down all his amp settings that I could see. He also used a pedal board, but as far as I know it was only used for certain parts of various songs, and nothing was ever kept on, thus meaning the tone is purely the 6505+.

The settings are as follows:
Pre: 4.5
Low: 6.1
Mid: 5.1
High: 5
Vol 2
Rhythm Resonance: 10
Rhythm Presence: 0
Lead Resonance: 7.5
Lead Presence: 6.9
So what we have here is the settings used on the lead channel. I couldn’t get down the settings for the rhythm channel aside from the resonance and presence. I dialed my amp into this setup and yeah, that’s definitely what they were using.
ENJOY!
