I’ll put the spotlight on a talented young lady who shreds pretty hard. Go to 2:06 to watch the song start playing, but this is probably my favorite song by them. The riffs are pretty awesome and the solos near the end are so fucking good.
Mind you this is some pretty fucking solid tech death.
MAN! I had no internet for 2 fucking weeks and that really fucking sucked. My tube is back on, so have some fucking brutal death metal.
Slaughter Survivors Tour 2012
I’m highly considering just not going to the main Summer Slaughter tour except that would be a fairly dumb idea, however if money was tight I would want to see Aegaeon more than anything else, plus I’m salty that they didn’t win the opener spot on the main tour.
Hypocrisy Live At Summerbreeze 2002
About to spend the next hour watching this. Such a great band.
Sinister - The Carnage Ending (2012)
Sinister released some hi-res album art for the upcoming album. No release date has been announced yet, but it’ll be 10 tracks and full of death metal.
Nile - At The Gate of Sethu (2012)
The reigning king of technical, historically-themed brutality, Nile, has announced a July 3rd release date for its upcoming studio album, At The Gate Of Sethu. The follow-up to Nile’s latest state-of-the-death-metal-art release, Those Whom the Gods Detest (2009), will once again be released via Nuclear Blast Records. Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Macabre) handled production duties for Nile’s seventh full-length.
Time for another brick-shittingly good time with Nile. I’m sure it’ll be better than Ithyphallic, but I wonder if it’ll be able to top Those Whom The Gods Detest. Comes out June 26 in Europe and July 3 in the US.
This lineup… it’s just… like wtf. Someone had to die at that concert.
I bet you guys thought today would pass without me posting something by Cannabis Corpse. Well you were wrong. They’re actually playing near me on Sunday with Revocation but I won’t be able to make it, and that makes me sad.
Blaze on.
So has Deathcore evolved, or are we a Death Metal band?
-Jonny Davy
So Jonny, singer for Job For A Cowboy, proposes an interesting question. If you weren’t aware, JFAC started out strictly as a deathcore band. I remember hearing them in 2007 when they were on tour with Megadeth and thinking “lol fuck this band” but then realized I actually liked it. With the release of their latest album Demonocracy (buy it on Amazon MP3) one might say that it isn’t your typical “deathcore” anymore. I definitely thought it was more along the lines of an evolved death metal thing. Not brutal death metal, or technical the way it’s normally used. Just really badass. Badass metal should be a new subgenre.
Back in January Allegaeon set out to begin recording their new album titled Formshifter and today they released a track from that album. It sounds pretty awesome, just like you would expect from Allegaeon. Formshifter will be released on May 8th.
Carach Angren - Where The Corpses Sink Forever (2012)
Symphonic black metal masters Carach Angren have a new release coming out soon! Yes! The album comes out May 18th but you can check out the link above from Amazon to hear some samples frome each song. For those of you who are not familiar with Carach Angren, if you’re a fan of Dimmu Borgir then this is certainly right up your alley although Carach Angren sort of takes it to the next level as far as the symphonic/atmospheric aspect goes.
Ex-Deo - Caligvla (2012)
soon… and I can’t wait. I really wish Ex-Deo was able to make the entire Paganfest tour in the US. At least Kataklysm’s 20 year DVD titled Iron Will comes out soon enough as well. I hope they use the footage of me and Maurizio talking about beer and the venue in Cleveland.
Well this is a neat treat to come across. This album is actually available to listen to on Spotify, so if you have spotify just click on this link and you can start listening to it. These songs are called “lost tracks” since they weren’t released on anything apparently, which I’m not entire sure about considering Youtube has old recordings of these songs on some sort of mixtape. Luckily everything is remastered and sounds awesome. It’s not weird Egyptian ambient bullshit either. It’s 5 legit songs. They’re MUCH slower than the Nile you’re probably used to though. Seems like they were trying for more of a groovy thing, but god damn Worship The Animal is a fucking HEAVY song. Like heavy as a heavy thing. I guess a cool bonus is that it’s done with the original lineup, so that’s Karl Sanders you hear doing most of the vocals. Check it out!
For all things including, but not necessarily limited to, music, various types of metal, and things that are just fucking metal.
Bands such as Sevendust, Disturbed, or Linkin Park will not be featured. This is fucking metal.
I'll link you to where you can buy these albums! Support what you love. Additionally, click on the pics for high-resolution versions of all these images! Going for quality so you can increase your metal library and have good album art (or a new wallpaper).
NOTE: I tediously tag basically every post. Click on them if they're of interest. I link all bands together, and I tag the various genres of music for each post. Granted I don't try to post only the same stuff, but rather post many different bands, you should click a tag to find more of that band or style of music.
